We were on our way to an end of season concert at Stir Cove (my favorite). We always find somewhere to eat in Omaha before the show but this time decided to stay in Council Bluffs! Anytime there are threads about where to eat the same few places are always mentioned. We made our way to LPL's!
First, it was hard to find a parking spot. It was a Tuesday evening and this place was PACKED. Inside it had a total Mom & Pop vibe and instantly reminded me of all the small town diners we've stopped at heading west across Nebraska. Luckily we were able to find a single table for two. There were only 2 ladies on the floor, running their tails off, but we were still greeted immediately.
Decided on the Combo Platter for an app. It literally has All the Things. 3 sauces included and added blue cheese. This would easily feed 4 people.
I had seen pics of the hand battered Walleye Dinner and knew that's what I wanted. It was also a Massive portion. So crispy and yummy but I could only eat like 2/3 of a filet.
My husband ordered the Roast Beef Cruncher Sandwich. He was so pleased at the amount of filling! Loved the meat and the bread, and the accompanying Horseradish sauce.
A lot of the items here are done in-house. Dressings, sauces, soups, etc. Prices are Extremely reasonable for the Generous portions. Our server Kelsey (sp?) was Excellent! So incredibly kind and concerned with our enjoyment. Rumor has it they have a popular Prime Rib special several days a week. Our lucky kids got to feast on a leftover buffet of apps, fish, tots, chili, and pasta.
Such a Great Place! 💜

Me and my father came here on 8/22/2025. My father enjoyed the big cut of prime rib. And I enjoyed the hot rost beef sandwich with gravy. We also got an order of cheese nuggets.
We arrived around 1215-1230 parking lot was mostly full, a few spots were open. Inside was pretty busy. There were no actual tables available at this time. However there was some space at the bar and we were seated right away.
There was only a couple servers I believe 2 for about 30 patrons. She asked our drinks and then we waiting about 5-7minutes for our drinks to arrive with menus. Was not a bad wait for the amount of patrons server was responsible for.
Our food came out about 15-20 minutes after putting in order.
The prime rib was huge and delicious
The potato soup was delicious
The roast beef sandwich was good however it seemed like too much bread not enough roast beef. The mashed potatoes was a generous helping. The cheese nuggets were good. However I thought the portion for price out of balance.
Overall experience was wonderful! Great food, good environment, and the entrees seem reasonably priced and portioned.
I would recommend this establishment for others to experience. I will return!!

Found this place from Fooligans on Facebook. This place did not disappoint at all! It's a seat-yourself style of seating. Food is outstanding for the price. I recommend getting the pork tenderloin, as it could feed two people easily. Burgers and the Reuben are also very good. Our family will be back for more.

The atmosphere was pleasant, the service was great, and the food was excellent. Very unexpected for a bar. The tenderloin sandwich was as big as an elephants ear and among the best I have had, and my wife's nachos were great. I can't wait to go back and try other menu items.

To LPL Management,
I am writing to express my sincere appreciation for the exceptional dining experience I recently enjoyed at your restaurant. The high quality of the cuisine significantly exceeded my expectations.
The prime rib, prepared to perfection, was a particular highlight, as was the remarkably flavorful roasted chicken breast. I also found the chicken peanut Thai sandwich to be exceptionally delicious, though its appeal proved too strong to allow for a photograph before its consumption! The carrot cake was a delightful and fitting conclusion to the meal.
The overall culinary artistry and the attentive service contributed to a truly memorable experience. I look forward to my next visit and will enthusiastically recommend your establishment to colleagues and friends.
Sincerely,
Ken Nelson
